Hey guys… This one I got from one of my forwards. Thought of sharing it here.. Good one!! Kindly spare 2 mins of your time and read it..

I was parked in front of the mall wiping off my car. I had just come from the car wash and was waiting for my wife to get out of work. Coming my way from across the parking lot was what society would consider a bum.

From the looks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes and no money. There are times when you feel generous but there are other times that you just don’t want to be bothered. This was one of those “don’t want to be bothered times.”
“I hope he doesn’t ask me for any money,” I thought. He didn’t.
He came and sat on the curb in front of the bus stop but he didn’t look like he could have enough money to even ride the bus.

After a few minutes he spoke. “That’s a very pretty car,” he said. He was ragged but he had an air of dignity around him. His scraggly blond beard keep more than his face warm.
I said, “thanks,” and continued wiping off my car.
He sat there quietly as I worked. The expected plea for money never came. As the silence between us widened something inside said, “ask him if he needs any help.” I was sure that he would say “yes” but I held true to the inner voice.

“Do you need any help?” I asked..
He answered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget. We often look for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from those of higher learning and accomplishments.
I expected nothing but an outstretched grimy hand. He spoke the three words that shook me.
“Don’t we all?” he said.
I was feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a bum in the street, until those three words hit me like a twelve gauge shotgun. Don’t we all?
I needed help. Maybe not for bus fare or a place to sleep, but I needed help. I reached in my wallet and gave him not only enough for bus fare, but enough to get a warm meal and shelter for the day. Those three little words still ring true.
No matter how much you have, no matter how much you have accomplished, you need help too.

No matter how little you have, no matter how loaded you are with problems, even without money or a place to sleep, you can give help.
Even if it’s just a compliment, you can give that. You never know when you may see someone that appears to have it all. They are waiting on you to give them what they don’t have. A different perspective on life, a glimpse at something beautiful, a respite from daily chaos, that only you through a torn world can see.

Maybe the man was just a homeless stranger wandering the streets. Maybe he was more than that. Maybe he was sent by a power that is great and wise, to sake up souls too comfortable in themselves.

Don’t we all?
In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us.

Hey guys…. First and foremost.. Would like to wish all my Muslim friends Ramadan Mubarak / Selamat Berpuasa.. May Allah’s Blessings with you all.. =)

iPhone is like the talk of the town these days! Just few months back 3GS was launched and the response for it was overwhelming… As far as I know; there are still plenty of customers whom are still waiting for the next arrival stocks of iPhone 3GS.. Keke! I was one of the lucky one whom got it in my companys’ roadshow; even without having to pre-order or waiting for it =D … Ok… Yeah was pretty excited about it; even though I did not had the heart to let go of my all time favourite Nokia… All right.. Surprising.. for the first time I’m going to post about a technical stuffs, as I’m using this 3GS iPhone, I do experience low battery life which is annoying me big time.. Guess this is one the side effects of Jailbreaking though…Or probably its the software.. Initially I was having second thoughts about Jailbreaking.. but since I trusted my colleague[that day itself; he jailbroke couple of phones...keke!] who is like a pro in that.. I was very much into it.. And that too its reversible.. So y not!?? Hehe.. I’m one of the Junior in my team to hold an iPhone ;)

Ok ok back to my story.. Yeah! When I went to bed about 12 plus that night the batt was about 70% and the next morning when I woke up at 5; my phone was totally off!! I was not even able to boot up that I freaked out!!!!! Hmmm.. thats where I realised that my colleague actually sent an e-mail some time back on tips regarding this battery consumption issues.. & thought why not share it here… =) If I’m not wrong he got it from the hardwarezone forums… Anywayz thanks to him(Paul) though.. My cousin brother tried the methods and it actually lasted him about 3 days!!!!! I am in the process of following the tips too :) Here you go….

Like in every new firmware, many iPhone OS device owners all over the web report battery life issues after upgrading to 3.0. The reason this time however, is mainly because of Apple’s Push Notification feature. I had upgraded to iPhone 3.0 during the beta and I noticed that the battery life drains about 1.5x faster than 2.2.1. But with the public 3.0, I feel as though it’s 3x as fast. It appears as though all the new features that have been implemented into 3.0 are pushing the devices to their limits. I noticed many hang ups and frequent freezes after some moderate usage of the iPhone. Even a great application called FreeMemory doesn’t seem to do the trick.

This is most likely a software issue that came bundled with the new features, settings, interface, etc. Some of the causes for the possible “iDrain” are Copy & Paste, Push Notifications, added MMS, iPhone tethering ability, Bluetooth A2DP, application incompatibility, and unstable jailbreaks. It can’t be helped though, at least Apple rolled out a iPhone SDK 3.1 for developers to fine tune their applications for smooth performance on the current and any future software updates.

*Here’s a few pointers that may help you out:*

*Mail, Safari, iPod, and Text are stock applications that can run in the background. Simultaneously running these will take up A LOT of system resources. If you are jailbroken, use SBSettings to end some of these processes.
*Turn off 3G.
*Turn off Wi-FI.
*Turn off Push for e-mail accounts and syncing servers such as MobileMe.
*Turn off Push Notifications for applications.
*Turn off Fetch.
*Keep the iPhone on standby when not in use.
*Set an auto lock time, you never know if you might accident forget to hit the sleep button, resulting in the possibility of extreme battery drainage.
*Spend less time on heavy-graphics games/applications.
*If you have an alarm set, but don’t need it, turn it off.
*When you want to go to your photo album, you have the option to go to it through your Camera.app but doing so will keep the Camera application running WHILE the Photos application is running as well. (does not apply for iPod touch users).
*Don’t use copy and paste unless you need to; using it creates a process called “pasteboardd” which remembers your copied/cut text. Copying/cutting pictures or large strings of text will slow down your iPhone as pasteboardd keeps the info until your next reboot (or next copy/cut).
*Your Phone application is ALWAYS running in the background, even on Airplane mode (iPod touch users will not have this process).
*Use a paid application called Free Memory to flush out some RAM and squeeze in room for other applications. (Note: The current version does not work well on 3.0. The developers are coming out with an update soon).
*Don’t install WinterBoard; it can take up anywhere from around 5-30MB. Besides you are better off plain and simple than slow and unresponsive.
*Disable MobileSubstrate add-ons that you don’t use by going to SBSettings>More>MobileSubstrate Extentions
Or just don’t install MobileSubstrate.
*Don’t unlock if you are on an official carrier.
*Remove applications you rarely use.
*Get the latest updates for App Store applications; they usually make the application faster, less buggy, and more battery efficient than the version previous.
*Don’t jailbreak.
Reboot fairly often.

Hey guys… Came across this in one of my forwards… Thought of sharing with you guys… Here u go..

A man was polishing his new car; his 4 yr old son picked up a stone
and scratched on the side of the car. In anger, the furious Man took
his child’s hand & hit it many times, not realizing he was using a
wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures.

When the child saw his father, with painful eyes he asked ‘Dad when
will my fingers grow back?’ The man was so hurt and speechless.
He went back to the car and kicked it many times. Devastated by his
own actions, sitting in front of the car he looked at the scratches,
His son had written ‘LOVE YOU DAD’.
Next day that man committed suicide.

remember, Anger and Love have no limits…

Always remember…. .
“Things are to be used and people are to be loved”

But the problem in today’s world is….
“People are being USED & Things are being LOVED

Ye dooriyan

Ye dooriyan
This distance

In raahon ki dooriyan
The distance between paths

Nigaahon ki dooriyan
The distance between eyes

Hum raahon ki dooriyan
The distance between companions

Fanaah ho sabhi dooriyan
All these distances should finish

Kyun koi paas hai
Why someone is near

Door hai kyun koi
While someone is away

Jaane na koi yahaan pe
Nobody knows this

Aa raha paas ya door main ja raha
Am I coming near or going far

Janu na mein hoon kahaan pe
I don’t know where I am going

Ye dooriyan
This distance

In raahon ki dooriyan
This distance between paths

Nigaahon ki dooriyan
The distance between eyes

Hum-raahon ki dooriyan
The distance between companions

Fanaah ho sabhi dooriyan
All these distance should finish

Ye dooriyan
This distance

Ye dooriyan
This distance

Kabi hua ye bhi
There was a time

Khaali raahon pe bhi
When you were with me

Tu tha nere saath
Even on empty path

Kabhi tujhe mil ke lauta
There was a time when my heart

Mera dil ye khaali khaali haath
Returned empty handed after meeting you

Ye bhi hua kabhi
This had happen

Jaise hua abhi
As if it has happened just now

Tujhko sabhi mein paa liya
I found you in everything

Tera mujhe kar jaati hai dooriyan
The distances between us make’s me your’s

Sataati hain dooriyan
The distances torment me

Tarsaati hain dooriyan
The distances make me long

Fanaah ho sabhi dooriyan
All these distances should finish

Kyun koi paas hai
Why someone is near

Door hai kyun koi
While someone is away

Jaane na koi yahaan pe
Nobody knows this

Aa raha paas ya door main ja raha
Am I coming near or going far

Janu na mein hoon kahaan pe
I don’t know where I am going

Ye dooriyan
The distance

In raahon ki dooriyan
This distance betweem paths

Nigaahon ki dooriyan
The distance between eyes

Hum-raahon ki dooriyan
The distance between companions

Fanaah ho sabhi dooriyan
All these distance should finish

Ye dooriyan

Mighty Mighty Evening!! Happy 44th Birthday Singapore ;)

Finally settled down infront of my lappy to write about my very own country Singapore after watching colourful NDP 2009 and saying out the pledge together with the nationwide @ 8.22pm.. It gives me a sense of satisfaction and proud to be a Singaporean… Many many love you Singapore..

Yippidi!! Finally today Singapore is celebrating its 44th yr of Independence, young & energetic which is something am really proud off! Very much looking forward the NDP today… ;) Following is this yr’s theme song for our very own National Day by Electrico!! Awesome job dude!! The song is indeed very meaningful….

2009 NDP Song — > Come together; Reaching Out Reaching Up

Singapore Flag

This is our very own Singapore flag; Its a symbol of statehood. Our National Flag consists of two equal horizontal sections, red above white. In the top left canton is a white crescent moon beside five white stars within a circle. The features of the flag were not arbitrarily chosen. Each feature has its own distinctive meaning and significance: red symbolises universal brotherhood and equality of man; white signifies pervading and everlasting purity and virtue; the crescent moon represents a young nation on the ascendant; and the five stars stand for the nation’s ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.

Hmm the following video is one of our very own most favourites songs which makes up weep and feel proud of our very own country and seeing this we could know how Singapore suffered becos of the British and Japanese, being chased away from Malaya.. From a sea port to a clean green & most importantly a beautiful city… Yet Singapore took it with a great spirit and turned into independence. This song comes along with our pledge(2:07 – 2:38). Check it out! Whenever I hear or sing a long this song.. By the end of the song; tears would be strolling down my cheek with happiness and pride….Hmmm.. Check out guys…

PS: Pledge (bold)

There was a time
When people said that Singapore
Won’t make it
But we did

There was time
When troubles seemed too much
For us to take
But we did

We build a nation
Strong and free
Reaching out together
For peace and harmony

This is my country;
This is my flag;
This is my future;
This is my life;
This is my family;
These are my friends,
We are Singapore… Singaporeans..

Singapore our homeland
Its here that we belong
All of us united
One people marching on
We’ve come so far together
Our common destiny
Singapore forever
A nation strong and free

This is my country;
This is my flag;
This is my future;
This is my life;
This is my family;
These are my friends,
We are Singapore… Singaporeans..

We the citizens of Singapore
Pledge ourselves as one united people
Regardless of race; language or religion
To build a democratic society
Based on justice and equlity
So has to achieve happiness; properity
And progress for our nation

We are Singapore; We are Singapore
We will stand together
Hear the lion roar

We are Singapore; We are Singapore
We’re are nation strong
And free forever more

We are Singapore; We are Singapore
We will stand together
Hear the lion roar

We are Singapore; We are Singapore
We’re are nation strong
And free forever more

This is my country;
This is my flag;
This is my future;
This is my life;
This is my family;
These are my friends,
We are Singapore… Singaporeans..x2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!! ;)
