Sometimes it makes me wonder; why are some people inconsiderate even when there are advertisements all over. As always, I got in the train from my place. And it was not as crowded as always. Got myself a seat and I eventually fall asleep(i was very sleepy here) 1/2 my journey. A sudden urge made me wake up only to find out there was this pregnant lady who was standing abt 5 seats away diagonally me. For a moment i was shocked and i immediately stood up to offer her my seat. She smiled at me with a ”thanks” . Which means? No one actually offered her a seat for her to refuse right? I was extremely absurd by such attitute.! There were some incidents; i’ve came across too. Like for example. Just recently; then again i offered my seat to an elderly who got in the train about 6 stations later. That was a particular station where alot of people got in, especially elderly. The next moment the other lady got up and offered hers to another elderly and then another. So waiting for someone to make the first move?? What is there to even think for this? There are two more incidents i really want to share too. One was in 190 bus. It is one of the bus I usually travel home from town because it actually enters the expressway, smooth 15 – 20 mins ride straight to Bukit Panjang, which is just few minutes to my area. Usually this bus is always crowded especially during the peak hours where people who works at town, living near my place takes this bus. I remember very well. Me and my cousin sister was standing at the connection a bendy bus. There was this couple whom got in on the Raffles Town Club bus-stop where it is just 2 – 3 stops away from the expressway. So at most time during peak hours; its fully packed till the door. So as i mentioned. A couple got in the bus there and the wife was actually pregnant. I could not see exactly what happened, but all i heard was ” Could someone give a seat to my pregnant wife? ” Aw… I was so touched by the concern of the husband but appalled by people whom were around her. And so in such situation; when i will not hesitate to even voice out. I hope am not over exaggeratting here. But sometimes i really find it hard to accept such inconsiderate behaviour. Although it has been improved; compared to before There are still minority people who ignores it. It just brings down the image of being a “Singaporean” ! I mean its understandable; being in a busy city, people tend to get tired and being always travelling in a all-time crowded transportations. Sometimes people are too tired to even think about others who needs it more. Like mentioned earlier on. Things are getting better here compared to previously. But its about time every single one should have the practice of this. Hmmm…. & yeah finally this incident which is something which I’m a little proud off. This time i was standing. If I’m not wrong an elderly came in the train; went in between of the car standing. Hmm.. that was where i spotted a primary school student directly infront of me sitting down. I looked at him; he looked at me and then i gave an eye signal pointing at the elderly lady. He looked at her and immediately stood up and offered his seat smiling at me. That gave me a sense of satisfaction. That elderly lady saying “Xi Xie” (thank you in chinese)to the boy couple of times before sitting there. From this we can see that they need it more then us. Being in the younger generation, we are physically active compared to elderly… Hmmm anywayz, would really like to share a video done by our very own Singapore and its always played in the MRTs. And loadz of picture advertisements on that as well as priority seats signs, which is actually letting us know how important it is to be courteous and considerate here. But sometimes it still make me wonder ” Are all this suppose to be taught or isn’t it just like common sense??” Haiz…. Hey guys.. Yes I am very proud to be a Singaporeans. As we are really coming up pretty well. Its just that some minority basic manners each and every of us should inherit. Just a while ago, was finding a picture of this priority seatings and came across a blog where there was this one person who actually commented. ” good point. it’s not very often you see that many needy people anyway. besides, there are priority seats on every corner. The needy have the right to ask to sit there. And that doesn’t mean they’re only allowed to sit at those places. Look around you and see if anyone’s willing to give up their seat. This is Singapore. Don’t expect even a tad amount of “kindness” ” Which means Singaporeans are not kind people? Hmm.. Okiez guys. Check this video out …..by our very own comedian Phua Chu Kang(Gurmit Singh).
